The planning deals with the reorganization of a section of Stream Shapirim to create a diverse and high-quality natural habitat, as part of the ‘green lung’ of Ariel Sharon Park, and the regulation of systems required for the visit and stay of a crowd of visitors. The special circumstances of this project meant that the planning team was tasked with creating a stream section on a new route. The work was done by a multidisciplinary team where all the aspects are consolidated into an integrative concept that includes aspects of landscape, environment, ecology and hydrology. The planning concept is of a “natural” show with a minimum of development required to make the stream accessible to the public – mainly for nature education purposes, a leisurely observation trip On the stream and extensive wandering of nature lovers on unpaved paths within the stream, less as a place for intensive recreation.
